Agnes Kemenes, the founder and CEO of NoBorders Law Group has been a successful migration advocate since 1998. Her rich experience in assisting individuals and businesses to achieve their migration goals stems from her own journey as a migrant.

Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Agnes arrived in Australia in 1987 without knowing English or having any connections in the country. Her personal experiences, including overcoming ‘Migration Syndrome’ and establishing her own migration practice in 1998 through dedication and hard work, give her unique insight into her clients’ situations.

In 2010, Agnes was a finalist in the Queensland Ethnic Business Awards. Her passion for people and Australia, combined with her professional and legal knowledge, resulted in a steady stream of clientele, primarily through referrals from satisfied clients. While managing a thriving practice, Agnes completed her legal studies at the Queensland University of Technology, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree and gaining admission as a lawyer.

Agnes also participates in various corporate and political functions, where she voices her opinions on Australia’s migration policy and establishes corporate alliances for her clients’ benefit. Known for her charisma, empathy, and innovative thinking, Agnes is dedicated to assisting clients throughout the migration process. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Member No. 004.

Jonathan regularly presents at seminars, conferences, workshops, and summits for industry associations, business owners, human resource professionals, boards, and executives. He is frequently consulted by media outlets, such as the Sydney Morning Herald, IntheBlack, ABC News, RPM, Property Observer, The Real Estate Conversation, and News.com.au, for his expert commentary on legislation changes and significant cases.

In addition to his professional commitments, Jonathan serves on the board of the non-profit organisation, The Foundation of Student Horizons, which helps disadvantaged youth in Australia and New Zealand realise their dreams through group travel and experiential learning. He is also a member of the Queensland Malt Whisky Society and Australasian Interim Executive Association.

Darren is an Associate in the Employment Law team at NB Lawyers and has a broad background involving Employment Law, Workers Compensation and Litigation.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Arts and is a graduate of the University of Queensland.

Darren advises clients on a wide range of Employment Law, including unfair dismissals, general protections, managing injured and ill employees, anti-discrimination and sexual harassment complaints and investigations, disciplinary actions, assistance with drafting enterprise agreements and associated negotiations, union right of entry, and general drafting of appropriate policy and procedures and contracts of employment.

Prior to working for NB Lawyers, Darren has worked for law firms that provided employment law advice directly to employers in the chamber movement in Queensland, and also was employed with the Workers’ Compensation Regulator in Queensland. Darren regularly presented Employment Law Sessions at Chamber Roadshows across Queensland and training to employers and their staff.

Such experience has put Darren in good stead to advise clients on the traps and pitfalls associated with Employment and Industrial law.

Prior to joining NB Law Group, Dan served as an Industrial Relations Consultant, where he advised on employee termination, performance management, Award analysis, and Enterprise Agreements. This experience has equipped him to handle a wide range of employment law matters effectively.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Laws/Commerce degree from the University of Queensland (UQ) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Further enhancing his credentials, he has also undergone additional training in the area of Industrial Relations.

In addition to his expertise in employment law, Dan has extensive experience in conveyancing matters, mortgage securitisation, and consents. He has notably worked on developing procedures for the PEXA e-conveyancing system, showcasing his ability to adapt to new legal technologies.

Tom’s passion for employment and industrial law was born during a career break in which Tom worked with numerous small businesses throughout the Australian wine industry. Following this, Tom sought out opportunities consulting in employment and industrial relations which led Tom to NB Employment Law where he was engaged as a solicitor.
Tom’s first legal role was as a Judge’s Associate in the Queensland District Court. Following this, Tom worked as a solicitor in property and succession practices prior to taking a career break with lead him to practicing employment law.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Bond University.
In his spare time Tom operates a successful wine podcast and enjoys wine education, trail running and spending time with family.”
