The Australian Government is currently considering implementing three sets of security checks on immigrants to Australia; before they leave their home country, when they arrive and when they apply for citizenship. These covert investigations will evaluate the likelihood of migrants to integrate into Australian society and adopt Western beliefs. These measures are being discussed to help rule out extremists and lying on applications to ensure those that we welcome into our nation have the best intentions.
Of course with this discussion, the Government must consider whether these investigations are ethical and worth the costs that will be associated with this implementation.
