Changes to Queensland State Sponsorship Announced

New changes to Queensland state sponsorship has been announced by the state government.

Queensland’s state sponsored skilled occupation list (QSOL) has been updated. The state government has added 28 to the occupation list and removed 4 from it. This is considered as good news for prospective migrants planning to come to Australia and proves that Queensland is still well and truly open for business.

Other changes to the QSOL are reductions of the IELTS requirement for all occupations to 6 and required work experience to only 2 years. Those changes assist applicants with meeting the requirements for Queensland state sponsorship under the subclass 190 visa.

The Queensland government usually processes requests for Queensland nomination for skilled visas within two weeks once a complete application has been received. This demonstrates Queensland’s aim to be the fastest state to process such visas.

These updated changes have come in to force from November 1, 2013.

A new QSOL and nomination criteria have been released for the State of Queensland.
